We’ve got you covered – Tasktop instantly supports Atlassian’s new product Jira Ops

Just three days ago, Atlassian announced the launch of Jira Ops, “a unified incident command center” that gives teams a single place for response coordination. Jira Ops, which aims to help teams resolve outages faster and incur fewer incidents over time, is available through Atlassian’s early access program and will be generally available in early 2019.

Here at Tasktop we wasted no time in checking out how we could support Jira Ops as part of a fully integrated best-of-breed toolchain. Because in practice, most software delivery organizations use more than one tool to accommodate the specific needs of different teams. So potentially they’d need a solution that can seamlessly flow incidents from Jira Ops to developers working in another tool like VSTS, keeping everyone in sync and eliminating the waste and overhead that comes from double entry.

And, what do you know? It works like magic. Thanks to our robust integrations, we instantly supported the new Jira Ops functionality.

We created a three-minute tech preview video demonstrating how Tasktop facilitates incident escalation across tools. In this video, we show how a new incident raised in Jira Ops automatically flows to the Dev team in VSTS as a defect. Changes or updates made to the defect in VSTS will flow back to the incident in Jira Ops, keeping everyone collaborating on the resolution in sync.

A cool feature of Jira Ops is that it creates a new Slack room for each incident. By virtue of Tasktop updating the Jira Ops incident with changes made in VSTS, any change to the description, Assignee or Reporter in either tool, or the addition of a discussion point will also post a notification to the Slack channel.

Tasktop expects to announce our formal support for Jira Ops when Atlassian makes it available for sale. In the meantime, organizations that rely on Tasktop to integrate their toolchain can rest assured they can benefit from all the new features and functionality from their tool vendors.
