Guess Who’s Back, Back Again…DevOps Enterprise Summit 2020, Las Vegas

Guess Who’s Back, Back Again…DevOps Enterprise Summit 2020, Las Vegas

October is a month that we look forward to every year. Yes, we get to see lots of dogs dressed up in their Halloween costumes, Netflix usually brings out some great scary movies, and Pumpkin Spice Lattes finally become acceptable to drink again. However, October also brings one of our favorite events of the year: The DevOps Enterprise Summit, Las Vegas (13-15 October).

There’s always that one neighbor who goes all out with the mind-blowing decorations every Halloween. And for Tasktop, DOES is our equivalent.

Take 2018 for example. Our founder and CEO, Dr. Mik Kersten, launched his Amazon best-selling book Project to Product and the pioneering Flow Framework®, and we literally brought a BMW i8 into the event hotel. For 2019, we decided to go bigger, unveiling Planview Viz™, a turnkey solution for implementing the Flow Framework, and the first and only purpose-built way of measuring the flow of business value in software delivery.

This year is no different. Yes, I think it’s fair to say that a lot has changed since we last stepped foot in Las Vegas. I can vaguely remember what it feels like to be at an in-person event, and sometimes, I catch myself thinking about how I miss the long check-in processes at the airport, or the chatty person on the plane who talks to you the whole flight when you just want to sleep. Events have gone virtual, and sadly meeting the DevOps community face-to-face is on hold for now. Yet that hasn’t dimmed Tasktop’s dedication to supporting attendees with their value stream management (VSM) journey in their quest to master software at scale.

Tasktop at DOES 2020

At our virtual booth and across various conference sessions and happy hours, we’re looking forward to continuing to help attendees make data-driven decisions that will help steer their unique DevOps and value stream management (VSM) journeys.

As you prepare for the virtual DOES Las Vegas in the coming week, make sure you mark these events in your diary:

Happy Hours

What happens in Vegas, gets shared at Happy Hour…

When? Tuesday, 13 October, 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. (PT)

What? Just because we can’t meet in Vegas this year, doesn’t mean that we can’t bring Vegas to you! Tasktop COO, Neelan Choksi, has made a name for himself in the technology industry. Prior to this, however, he was part of the infamous MIT Blackjack Team and spent a lot of time traveling back and forth to Sin City. For one night only, Neelan will be sharing his lessons learned on the casino floor. Don’t miss out on this rare opportunity to learn from one of the best in the business.

Ask Me Anything with Dr. Mik Kersten

When? Wednesday, 14 October, 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. (PT)

What? Grab a happy hour cocktail and join Tasktop CEO and best-selling author of Project To Product, Dr. Mik Kersten, at this AMA on Wednesday 14 October, 5:30 p.m. (PT). Nothing is off the record as Mik answers your burning questions on moving from project to product, Flow Metrics, value stream management and more!

Conference Sessions

The CIO Who Mistook Tech Debt for a Hat (and other Flow Diagnostics)

When? Wednesday, 14 October, 10:00 a.m (PT)

What? Over the past year, Dr. Mik Kersten and his Flow Advisory team have been collecting value stream data sets from enterprise IT organizations undergoing digital transformation treatments. In this talk, Mik will take us through the most common, the most problematic, and the most bizarre flow diagnoses that he has encountered.

Outcomes Over Outputs: Measure What Matters to the Business

When? Wednesday 14, October, 11:35 a.m (PT)

What? In this talk, Laksh Ranganathan explores some of the reasons why quantity and context, rather than effort, is a better gauge of value. She dives into how focusing on quantity can enable teams to not just align better within the business context, but also better manage their capacity.

Live Demos

Tasktop has three live demos scheduled during the event. Please join us during one of the following times to learn more about Tasktop’s offerings:
